Heavy snowfall and tree rot likely caused a freak accident that killed two Canmore residents at a popular tourist attraction on Vancouver Island, a B.C. coroner said Sunday. Jo Ann Godwin, 38, and Brandon Quantz, 33, of Canmore died from blunt force trauma when a 60-metre fir tree toppled under the weight of snow and fell across a car in the south parking lot at Cathedral Grove on Saturday morning.
