Ski hill theft-prevention program starts to work as awareness increases

Each week, the COP supervisor of security gathers theft summaries from all ski areas involved in the program. He then distributes them to the Calgary Police stolen property unit, RCMP detachments in Lake Louise and Banff (soon to be expanded to include Golden, Invermere, Fernie and Kimberley), used equipment and consignment stores in Calgary, Canmore and Banff, retail stores with tech shops in Calgary and Banff (40 stores in Calgary, 15 in Banff) and all participating ski area security departments.
