Guiding pioneer Ken Jones dies of stroke at 93

The first Canadian to become a certified guide in the Rocky Mountains has died at the age of 93. Ken Jones (1910-2004), a legend in mountaineering circles, suffered a stroke Sunday at his home in Nanton and died the next day. In 1936, he began working at the Skoki Lodge. The funeral will be on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Nanton United Church.
