In a move that has angered Albertans, and that calls into question the willingness of the Alberta government to protect the province's threatened grizzly bear, Alberta Sustainable Resource Development announced on Monday that as many as 73 grizzly bears can be killed by sport hunters in 2004. The announcement comes on the heels of a 2003 study that estimates a population of 500 grizzly bears on provincial land.
