Retired police officer Nigel Paterson concedes surveillance cameras in downtown Banff could have “a huge evidentiary value” in assisting investigations of late-night street crime. However, Paterson, a current town councillor and a declared mayoralty candidate for this fall’s municipal election, isn’t about to declare his support for such cameras.
