Ski trip turns deadly in Yoho

An American man is dead after plunging about 600 metres down the side of a mountain during a backcountry skiing trip in B.C. Friday afternoon. Parks Canada officials said the man, whose name, age and place of residence hasn't been released, was skiing with a larger group on a mountain called The Vice President in Yoho National Park when he skied away from the group towards a ledge.
