Marylin Patterson was looking for a little “girls’ getaway” and a week on the beach seemed to lack any real adventure. So the Ontario native headed westward and upward with two friends to a breathtaking trail 2,100 metres up the Rocky Mountains, deep within Banff National Park, as one of a group of 20 “cowboys” on a Holiday on Horseback excursion run by Banff-based Warner Guiding and Outfitting.
