National park workers vote in favour of strike

Nationwide, 4,000 workers are set to strike as early as the July 1 long weekend. The national strike vote was 89 per cent. The Alberta vote backing strike action was even higher, at 92 per cent. Dave Jackson, Alberta representative of the Public Service Alliance of Canada, says if PSAC strikes, employees who collect fees from the public will definitely be among those carrying pickets. “People will just be driving in and using the parks for free,” he says.
