Poll claims support for closing wage gap between PSAC and private counterparts August 11, 2004
A poll finds almost three-quarters of people surveyed think that a 20-per-cent wage gap between blue collar workers in the federal government and their counterparts in the private and public sectors should be eliminated. Seventy three per cent of respondents to a poll commissioned by the by the Public Service Alliance of Canada conducted by Environics said the wage gap should be eliminated, with 19 per cent saying it should be done immediately, 24 per cent saying over the next one to two years and 30 per cent over the next two to four years.
