Parks Canada strike begins

Strike action began Thursday night in parks and campgrounds across the country after contract talks broke down between Parks Canada and its employees' union. But campgrounds and parks will remain open to the public, said an official with Parks Canada. “The parks will certainly remain open,’ said Gaby Fortin, director general for Western and Northern Canada. ‘If, for example, the gates of the parks were to be picketed, we would waive the fee and would just let people go through.’
