Strikes hit Alberta parks August 20, 2004
Rotating strikes by Parks Canada staff have returned to Alberta, with visitors to the province's major parks likely to encounter pickets and delays. Kevin King, spokesman for the Public Service Alliance of Canada, says the general work stoppage will affect all Parks Canada sites in the province. That means tourists won't have to pay to get into Banff, Jasper or Waterton National Parks Thursday, as no one will be collecting admissions. In Banff, there will also be pickets at the Johnson Canyon hot springs, the cave and basin historic site and the information bureau and museum Related stories: park workers’ strike Other news for August 2004 |
