Parks managers intimidating workers, union says August 20, 2004
The week-old strike at Parks Canada turned nasty yesterday as the union accused the agency of violating labour laws by intimidating striking workers and interfering with the bargaining process. Yesterday, meanwhile, strike activity was stepped up in the mountain parks. Some campgrounds in Jasper were closed and registration was refused at others in Banff. Historic sites such as Banff's Cave and Basin and the Banff Park Museum were closed, as was the Upper Hot Springs in the park. Related stories: park workers’ strike Other news for August 2004 |
