Norris calls for end to parks strike

Economic Development Minister Mark Norris has called on the federal government to resolve the dispute between Parks Canada and its 4,800 employees. In a letter to Stephane Dion, the federal minister responsible for the parks, Norris says he would like to see picketing postponed until after the peak summer tourist season. The minister says provincial tourism officials have received complaints about the strike from visitors.
