Strike closes sites September 1, 2004
Rotating strikes by Parks Canada workers have forced the early closure of several of the service's smaller campgrounds. Parks Canada spokesman Pam Veinotte said yesterday the sites normally close after Labour Day, but the dispute involving close to 5,000 unionized workers has pushed that about a week ahead. Closed sites include Two Jack Lakeside, Rampart Creek and Protection Mountain in Banff, Hoodoo Creek in Yoho, and McLeod Meadows and Marble Canyon in Kootenay Related stories: park workers’ strike Other news for September 2004 |
