Banff's runner-up in the race for mayor says he feels he may have been the victim of a lastminute whisper campaign. Nigel Paterson said in the last few days before the October 18 municipal election a rumour swept through Banff that he would support a midnight closure of the resort town's bars in an effort to combat the perennial late night noise problem.
