In the Banff-Cochrane riding Conservative incumbent Janis Tarchuk will be contested by Green Party candidate and Banffite Chris Foote, and a yet-to-benamed candidate from the newly formed Alberta Alliance Party. Neither the Liberal Party nor New Democratic Party had a candidate for the riding yet, but expect one soon.
