A heavy dump of snow and fluctuating temperatures have experts reminding backcountry enthusiasts of the avalanche risks in the Rocky Mountains. The risk is currently deemed considerable above the treeline. The considerable rating encompasses the Fernie area, as well as Banff, Kootenay and Yoho National Parks. The risk is moderate below the treeline.
