Count shows birds spent Christmas away from Valley

With guidebooks and binoculars in hand, a large group of dedicated birders took flight to all corners of the Bow Valley recently to spend the day counting birds during the 2004 Christmas bird count. But compared to previous years, the overall number of birds and species were down in both the Exshaw and the Banff-Canmore circles. In Banff it was the lowest number of birds since 1986.
