A fugitive from Arkansas — a convicted Canadian con artist with 12 aliases — should be extradited to Madison County to stand trial on assault, battery and theft charges she fled from in 1999, a provincial judge in Victoria, British Columbia, ruled Friday. Raswitha Elisabeth von Meerscheidt-Hullessem, 50, is wanted by prosecutors who say she tried to murder her mother. Royal Canadian Mounted Police say she faked a literary conference in Banff and got a one-day jail sentence after a fraud conviction in November 2003. She is working on a “humorous” autobiography, Damsel in Distress, that features some of the Mounties that have tried to catch her.
