Thomas Grandi of Banff, Alta., was 12th in the World Cup giant slalom in Adelboden, Switzerland. Grandi, the World Cup giant slalom leader, was 14th with a large 1.77-second gap to make up in the second leg. He started first and raced with little sunlight.
