Highways shut down in mountain parks

Freezing rain and extremely slippery conditions have resulted in numerous road closures in Banff, Kootenay, Yoho, Glacier and Revelstoke national parks. Highway-1 is closed from Lake Louise right through to Revelstoke. Travel between Banff and Lake Louise is not recommended. The Trans-Canada highway east of Golden has been closed indefinitely due to avalanche hazards.
