Health region may eliminate seniors’ long-term beds in Banff

The Calgary Health Region (CHR) is studying the possibility of someday having to consolidate all of the long-term care beds for Bow Valley seniors in either Banff or Canmore. CHR officials told a meeting in Banff on January 13 that they would like input from local communities on several different options for future care because it wants to present its Rural Continuing Care Plan to the CHR board as early as next month.
