As a team of 18 Canadians heads into the Italian villages of Bormio for the world alpine championships, there’s a sense of progress and expectation almost bordering on arrogance.The 11 men and seven women represent the most technically versatile and most decorated collection of Canadian alpine World Cup competitors since the 1980s. Thomas Grandi won two slalom races, in Italy and Austria, just before Christmas.
