Businesses seek tougher sentences for violent crimes

A group of Banff businesses is sending a letter to Alberta Justice Minister Ron Stevens to protest what they perceive as lenient sentences handed in Banff Provincial Court. Officials with the Banff Bar Watch Society say they are concerned that those accused of serious crimes, such as stabbings, are not doing “time for the crime.”
