Parks not backing down on fee hike

Parks Canada still plans to hike user fees in national parks despite a $209 million funding announcement by the federal government last month to help rebuild crumbling infrastructure. Bill Fisher, executive director for mountain parks, said that the extra funds still leave Parks Canada with a budget shortfall of about $25 million and higher fees are still needed to upgrade facilities.
