Bear scare closes Benchlands trail

Increased bear sightings have forced the closing of a popular back-country region of Kananaskis Country where a Canmore woman was killed in a mauling. The Benchlands area, between Stoneworks Creek and Cougar Creek, is off-limits, said Ray Andrews, a spokesman with Alberta Community Development.
