Recent record rains may be threatening Banff's endangered snail following unprecedented drops in water temperature and major changes to bacteria in the hot springs. The bacteria in the thermal springs upon which the snail feeds appears to be decaying, changing in colour from brilliant white to a dull grey, while the water itself is running clearer than usual.
