Banff reeling after woman attacked July 12, 2005
The attack of a young Banff woman found lying unconscious and partially clothed on the bank of the Bow River has sent shock waves through the tourist town. A woman out for a stroll stumbled upon the motionless 20-year-old, believed to be a seasonal worker, near the Central Park gazebo shortly after 7 a.m. Monday. She had a skull fracture and abrasions on her lower back and legs. Police did not release the identity of the woman and would not confirm if she had been sexually assaulted.
