Two foreign climbers killed in avalanche on Mount Robson August 2, 2005
At press time Monday, Jasper Park wardens had recovered the body of one European climber who perished on the steep north face of Mount Robson, but recovering the second body, which was prepared for removal but left until conditions improved, is questionable after two subsequent avalanches on the same slope. Parks Canada has since reissued the unusual summer avalanche warning it released last month as a reminder to climbers and scramblers that little has changed in the alpine since a climber was injured in an avalanche on Mount Athabasca last month.
