Bear cubs stand slim chance to live without mother August 22, 2005
The three cubs of a well-known grizzly bear killed by a train have a slim chance of survival without their mom, say officials with Parks Canada. Jillian Roulet of Parks Canada said the death of Bear No. 66 on Friday will affect the ecological situation in Banff's Provincial Park, but her three young cubs will suffer most. “The likelihood of their survival is pretty low,” she said. “They are less than a year old and cubs usually stay with the mom for two to three years.” Other news for August 2005 |
