Bear mauling victim’s doing well in hospital

Family members from Regina are on their way to the Foothills hospital bedside of the victim of the most recent grizzly bear mauling. Laurie Simons continues to recover from injuries to her head and reconstructive surgery after the mauling over the weekend near Lake Minnewanka, about 95 km west of Calgary. Deb Hornsby, a spokeswoman for the Banff Centre, said Simons is in a summer work study program in the theatre production and design department doing scenic painting.
