The first ski weekend of the season proved tragic after a Banff resident was killed at Sunshine Village yesterday. Many of the 4,000 skiers and boarders that clamoured to the hill described conditions as fantastic. But the mood turned sombre with news that a 32-year-old man, originally from Kingston, Ont., died after crashing in one of Sunshine's most popular and demanding black-diamond runs
