A Kingston man who loved life in the Alberta Rockies because it allowed him to be outside and active all year died on those slopes Friday. David Schlichter, 32, was skiing down a run known as Standish Face Friday at Sunshine Village Ski and Snowboard Resort near Banff when witnesses said he lost his balance and struck his exposed head on a rock. He died from his injuries.
