Long-time Banff Springs Hotel employees Doug and Holly Wood were part of last week’s surprise management casualties at several Fairmont hotel properties, forcing the prominent couple to leave Banff. Fairmont is blaming the layoffs on a tourism slump given an expected recovery in the United States travel market failed to happen.
