U of C professors perfect avalanche test

Experts at the University of Calgary have honed their snow sense in detecting higher avalanche risks -- a system that's been adopted by emergency officials in the mountains. Five years of conducting simple tests in the mountains of B.C. have allowed U of C researchers to determine what type of snow fractures present the greatest danger when disturbed by people, said Dr. Bruce Jamieson.
